The Story

From Grandma's Kitchen to Brooklyn's Favourite Hole

It started in 2015 when Maya Goldstein, armed with her grandmother's handwritten recipe and an embarrassingly small kitchen, began baking bagels for her neighbours on Saturday mornings. They were gone in minutes.

Two years later, The Hole Story opened its first shop on Dough Lane. Today, we're a team of 12 passionate humans — bakers, baristas, and bagel enthusiasts — committed to making mornings better, one perfect ring at a time.

Maya grew up in her grandmother's Brooklyn kitchen and has been perfecting the art of the bagel for over 20 years.
